Frugal Fashionista Friday.....At Long last!

 So it's been a while and after uploading these pictures I have decided that I have to have to step up my photos and stop asking Jakob to take them (I still love you nunu) so I promise there will be better quality pictures the next time!  Of course I will still share what I wore :)

I went to a Dr Dre Beats event what must have been eons ago and I wore my favorite disco dress, $30 vintage store in Canada, vintage belt and purse salvation army in Canada but sorry can't remember price.

My second look I wore a Brandy Melville skirt $30 with vintage belt $6 Zara jacket closet purge from Dommie Bommie aka Dominque Piek and an American Apparel body suit turned crop top!

 I am squeezing in this post today because I have soooo much to share with you and my pictures are piling up! It's been a whirlwind month, my mother's birthday, my birthday and several events for Jakob ie Keynote speaker at an event at Soho House Berlin, and his Nomination Dinner for Entrepreneur of the year. I gather you can sense the immense pride I feel :) In between all of this the three of us were sick first Michaela than Jakob and finally it got me. We are a family of troupers and we missioned through! Now it's off to Oktoberfest and a surprise for Michaela :)

  As a green girl who dreams of getting married some day, whenever I think of paper goods associated with wedding invites or favors recycled kraft paper automatically come to mind. I love the look of burlap with cream lace or simple twine tied around a jar. Here is my Etsy go to list for brown paper packages tied up with string ;). My favorite is the craft paper hearts! What's your favorite?

Upcycle Tuesday....Rock Around The Clock!

Ohhhhh what a lovely weekend I had. Firstly I went with Jakob to the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year dinner. His company was nominated, they did not win but Jakob was already aware of that fact so not tears were shed hahahaha. I wore some vintage and frugal goodies which you will see on Friday :) Secondly it was my birthday yesterday Yay! Jakob surprised me and whisked me away to Paris on Sunday for my birthday it was AhMazing!!!!!!! I will share pics on Friday as well.

Lets get to the good stuff where creative minds create wonderful things from objects upcycled into green goodness, I find that Etsy is chock  full of those creative finds. I found this upcycled old record player to a clock by Pixel This, it's such a brilliant idea. A perfect way to add that old school retro feel to your home.

Eco Wedding Wednesday! With this Ring......

 As you can probably tell by now I absolutely heart all things vintage and that includes engagement rings. My go to spots for vintage engagement and eco rings are Etsy, Erstwhile Jewelry and Monique Pean Jewelry. She uses conflict free diamonds and recycled gold in her beautiful creations while supporting Charity Water which provides drinking water to at risk communities.   Here are some interesting facts I learned via Monique's interview on Martha Stewart weddings firstly it takes 20 tons of waste to produce one gold ring and secondly there is enough recycled gold in the world to create jewelry for the next 20 years. Wow! So the next time you are ring shopping think vintage conflict free diamond and recycled gold!

Upcycle Tuesday....Let there be Light!

I found these gorgeous upcycled vintage camera's through my twitter feed on Inhabitot. I was amazed at what an ingenious idea this was. They are perfect for a little boy's room or a camera enthusiast like my daughter. They can be found on Jason Hull's Etsy shop Jayfish in October, right now he has them on sale at the Moma in San Francisco. Amazing!!!!!

Their latest endeavor Missoni x Muzungu Sisters x CB for Small Steps Project 1 donates 10% of each sale of  their shoes to the Small Steps Project. A charity that provides shoes for children forced to live on municipal rubbish dumps around the world. The fabric from the shoes was donated by the Missoni family and upcycled to create the stylish shoe.

New in the Shop!

Some new goodies to share with you! My greatest apologies, I have no vintage posts they are all on Jakob's phone (yeah that's how we shoot sometimes!!!) and he is in the Alps right now WITHOUT me. I don't mind though, it's a networking trip where he has so far ridden in a hot air balloon and taken a segway tour through the alps but of course I'm not jealous :)

I love this cropped Joseph Magnin jacket interesting note when I googled the brand I found out two things. First it was an upscale department store in San Francisco and second Marilyn' suit  she wore on her wedding day to Joe DiMaggio was from there! It's the perfect transitional fall Jacket  and would look cute with a pair of jeans!

This sweater screams back to school for me. 80's style pink and black zebra print so risky business party scene!

This is a renewed item, not only in my shop in look as well. I gave it a more modern edge with the high low hemline.
